A look at the Gold and Silver Charts (25.12.2025)

Helicopter with COMEX letters saving from Bad short position cartoon

I have put this article ahead of the others I had prepared because of its importance.

Once again the bankers are being bailed out of their short positions in silver. At some point they were going to be caught short. That time is right now. Once again the investors are on the hook for the improprieties of the ‘untouchables’.

The COMEX has changed the rules for trading silver on margin. In order to continue to hold one’s contracts, the margins have been doubled, meaning one would have to double the amount paid for the futures contract or sell the contract, forcing prices down. In addition, the ‘buy’ button was allegedly on some trading platforms, disabled, only allowing sell orders, further adding to selling pressure. Rigging the market in favour of the bankers is what I would call it.

I have never seen this action in reverse, where investors would get an unfair advantage. Unfortunately this is perfectly legal as it is part of the terms of the contract, as well as the fact that investors who stand for delivery can be paid out in cash. I wonder what happened to morality?

I feel that under normal circumstances this panic move would probably work, but this time there is a real shortage of metal which has been ongoing for five years, the demand is increasing, dealers do not have silver, large buyers such as the motor industry, solar panel manufacturers and others are bypassing the market and buying directly from the mines, removing the flow through the market exacerbating the shortage.

I understand that they are paying around $85.00 per ounce so I expect prices to gravitate there and then some. Let the games begin.

Just for fun, here is the chart for the S&P 500. Our system gave a sell signal at the very end of November and has just given a new entry signal. This to my mind reflects the inflationary numbers showing through as well as the Quantitative Easing by another name. The beginnings of a blow off top?

Inspired by Greg Mannarino

Despite the political propaganda of how amazing the US economy is, some raw numbers may add some reality to the situation.

ISM Manufacturing PMI is 48.2, Nine consecutive  months have been below 50. (An index value below 50 indicates contraction).

The New Orders index is now at 47.4. Demand is decreasing.

ISM Manufacturing Employment Index is 44.0, under 50 for ten months in a row.

ISM Prices paid index is 58.5 as orders plummet. This means prices are going up as demand falls. Stagflation?

FED Industrial Production Data shows capacity  utilization decreasing, that equals falling demand.

Manufacturing payrolls are decreasing, Lower wages, decreased working hours or layoffs could contribute to this.

Tariffs are paid by the American consumer. Input costs increase and as a result prices and inflation increase. Any reduction in prices will be as a result of diminishing demand, forcing the cutting of margins along the entire supply chain.

The question then is…. Is this deliberate policy?

How Well is Capitalism Working?

Only 41% of Americans believe that capitalism works. The question then is, do we have a capitalistic society? In my opinion the answer is a resounding NO.

When the government subsidises companies to manufacture Electric vehicles which many people do not want. When the government  ‘buys’ shares in certain industries such as solar manufacturers and AI companies. When certain companies get preferential treatment.  When Farmers are subsidized ….. That to me is not capitalism.

If one reads Ayn Rand – Atlas Shrugged, we can see exactly where we are headed and it is not pleasant.

  • Gold Monthly:  is a HOLD. We bought at $1,800.00 in October 2023.  Looking overbought, but it can hold that situation for a while. No sell signal yet.  We need to see a price over $4400.00 for me to relax a little. (I am relaxing a little!).

  • Gold Weekly:  (HOLD 25 August 2025)   Overbought. No sell signals yet.  An unusual pattern. A definitive candlestick sell, then a break free of the resistance.

  • Gold Daily: (HOLD: 12 November 2025).  It almost looked like a sell on the daily chart but the indicators are holding.

The low for Silver this week was $66.87 and the high $72.70 trading around $71.06 at present.

  • Silver Monthly: Hold. (Buy:  $24.00 March 2024). Looking overbought. No sell signal yet.
