A look at the Gold and Silver Charts (27.11.2025)

Dumb them down_Tina cartoon

Dumbing down the population seems to be the way politicians keep the voters voting for them.

Do governments deliberately “dumb down” populations for political control?

In some countries, yes — absolutely.Authoritarian systems throughout history have used limited education, restricted media access, and propaganda to reduce public agency and maintain political dominance.

Examples include:

  • Apartheid South Africa
    • Bantu Education Act explicit purpose: restrict Black advancement).
    • Molefe Mbeki, brother of the previous president, also did research, coming to a similar conclusion.
  • Zimbabwe state media control, textbook restrictions
  • Soviet Union centralized control of history, economics, and media
  • Modern autocratic regimes where media is censored, opposition silenced, and education politicized

In these cases, the strategy is clear:

A less informed population is easier to manipulate.

The tactic is real  historically and globally.

Unfortunately this happens in democratic countries as well.

Not in the same overt or coordinated way, but there are structural and political incentives that create similar effects, not necessarily through stated intent.

Some factors that look like “soft dumbing-down”:

a. Polarized media ecosystems

News becomes entertainment, outrage, and identity-building rather than information. Both left-leaning and right-leaning media can distort reality for tribal loyalty.

b. Declining education quality in many districts

  • Poor literacy rates
  • Weak civics education (many Americans can’t name the 3 branches of government)
  • Schools underfunded or politically weaponized

This makes voters easier to sway with emotional rather than analytical arguments.

c. Social-media–driven attention collapse

Short-form content reduces critical thinking and makes nuanced policy discussions almost impossible.

d. Political incentives reward simple messages, not complex truths

Politicians rarely benefit from telling voters hard economic realities. So slogans replace substance.

This isn’t quite the same as deliberate state-sponsored “dumbing down,” but it produces similar outcomes.

What is happening in the U.S.?

Rather than a centralized strategy, what we see is:

✔ Fragmented political incentives
✔ Tribal identity reinforcement
✔ Declining institutional trust
✔ A media environment that rewards emotional thinking
✔ Weak civics and economic literacy

The result feels like intentional dumbing-down because it produces the same behavioral outcome: voters who are easier to manipulate through fear, anger, and oversimplified narratives.

But in the U.S., it’s more: systemic dysfunction + incentive structures than centralized political intention.

These patterns occur in many countries under stress — not just South Africa and the U.S.

  1. Distrust in institutions rising
  2. Polarization replacing critical thinking
  3. Emotion-based voting rather than policy-based
  4. Economic stress making voters more vulnerable to populism
  5. Political narratives targeting identity and grievance instead of competence

High-information voters are harder to manipulate.

While it isn’t always a conscious plan, the incentives align such that the outcome is similar.

Because of the political spoils available to the politicians, their sponsors, privileged friends and companies; when votes go their way, dumbing down is in their interests and will be exploited as far as possible.

Greater involvement in local politics by area residents as well as continuous education regarding the above matters  may influence people to be more politically aware. Unfortunately as long as people are comfortable there is no incentive to put in the required effort.

SELL: (20 November 2025) Indicators reversing, no buy yet.

SELL: (15 October 2025) URA. Looks like it is recovering, no buy signal yet.

Gold outperforms Bitcoin  (05 November 2025).  21.14 one ounce gold coins buys a bitcoin, this was over 41 ounces almost a year ago. Signs of a turn around are evident. If I was a betting man and ignoring the normal signals I would buy Bitcoin. A nice spike low here.

ETHUSD: BUY: (26 November 2025)

BTCUSD: BUY: 23 November 2025.  NASDAQ (Cyan).

06 November 2025 Gold stocks outperform gold.

Silver stocks outperform silver (21 November 2025).

Silver to Gold Ratio

Silver outperforming Gold. (07 November 2025)  When we think that silver is coming out of the ground at about 8:1 and the Gold: Silver ratio is 78.08:1 something is way out of kilter. Silver is an astounding buy at this time or gold is in for an extremely heavy correction.

Gold outperforms USD, (11 November 2025).  I am getting strong signals for change, but the rate of change disagrees. I will wait to have more certainty.

  • Gold Monthly:  is a HOLD. We bought it $1,800.00 in October 2023.  Looking overbought, but it can hold that situation for a while. No sell signal yet.  A spike high has formed (a sell signal), and we have to wait for the end of the month for confirmation. No sell yet.

  • Gold Weekly:  (HOLD 25 August 2025)   Overbought. No sell signals yet.

  • Gold Daily: (HOLD: 12 November 2025).  It almost looked like a sell on the daily chart, but the indicators are holding.

The low for Silver this week was $49.61, and the high $53.38, trading around $53.07 at present.

  • Silver Monthly: Hold. (Buy:  $24.00 March 2024). Looking overbought. No sell signal yet.

  • Silver Weekly: (HOLD: 25 August 2025). Overbought but still positive indicators.
