A look at the Gold and Silver Charts (18.06.2026)

Kevin Warsh and the committee have decided to hold rates steady. A good decision, in my opinion, considering current conditions. A radical change in policy appears to be in line.

The implementation of five task forces to improve systems currently in place should bring benefits to both the FED and the public.

They are:

  • Fed Communications
  • Fed Balance sheet
  • Use and reliance on current data sources
  • Productivity and jobs
  • Inflation frameworks

The fresh look at FED business overall is encouraging.

The 10 Year yield is 4.43%, while inflation (if you believe the official number) is 4.2%, which gives you a real return of 0.23%, so on $100,000.00 invested for a year, the real return would be $230.00. That is awfully close to zero.

Investing in paper treasuries at this time is almost a zero sum game and if real inflation is taken into account, a losing game. Hard assets have been a much stronger investment and appear to be getting  better.

As long as currency keeps being printed, to ‘paper’ over the liquidity shortages and corruption, precious metals will outperform irrespective of the price manipulation of the metals.

Opening the Straits of Hormuz on Friday will not fix the problems of the dollar. It may even be that the Hormuz affair is in order to help save the dollar. The massive debt overhang does not disappear with the resolution of this issue, assuming that it is resolved.
