A look at the Gold and Silver Charts (15.01.2026)

Once again, we look at the silver market.

Gold is hitting new highs as would be expected when currencies are being devalued at the rate that they are, but silver reaching the prices it is, because of previous decades of suppression, is no longer a conspiracy theory.

The silver paper markets and physical markets are bifurcating. The large banks that have shorted the silver market for so long are caught short and, because of the rapidity of the price rise, have not been able to liquidate their positions. It could also be and is probably likely that they expected that the prices would be smashed as they have been in the past.

The difference this time is that there is no metal to support their manipulation. This is why spreads of $11.00 plus have been seen between western paper pricing and eastern physical markets.

Holding physical metal under your control is imperative. The banks, particularly those with large short positions in the silver market, are particularly vulnerable.

I understand that J P Morgan, whilst being one of the largest shorts in the market, used the suppressed prices to accumulate a silver stockpile of around 700,000,000 ounces of physical. They are now long in the market.

We chatted last week about the silver eagles being cheap in the eighty-dollar range. This week, we are quoting those same coins at over one hundred dollars.

I believe that this is just the very beginning of the price discovery of silver. India is trading silver at $132.00 per ounce.

A run in price like this usually has a rest or pull back in price. The only reservation I have to being out of the silver market at this time is the critical shortage of the metal for industrial purposes. Investors and traders pile in when these conditions exist.

BUY: On the monthly chart (BUY: April 2025) We have a buy on Platinum. The spike high was a worry, but the price is recovering well. No sell indicators.

Gold outperforms bitcoin  (18 December 2025).  20.79 one ounce gold coins buys one bitcoin, this was over 41 ounces almost a year ago. It appears that bitcoin is reversing. I could call a reversal here except that the chart is already overbought. It is worth waiting a while.
