The signs of the US economy being in trouble keep popping up their heads. The narrative of the economy being strong does not resonate with me.
The speed at which it is slowing is concerning.
- Housing – Delinquencies are increasing every month.
- Jobs – Thousands of jobs are being cut. Work hour reductions are increasing. A slowing economy and AI are having a huge impact.
- Credit cards – Credit card debt is increasing every month. Delinquencies are accelerating.
- Banks – It is becoming harder to refinance and roll over debt instruments. Commercial real estate debt is being realized, moving from unrealized and impacting balance sheets. Watch the regional banks, particularly.
- Government funding – Treasury auctions are weakening. Foreign buyers and big banks are not buying the newly issued debt. The FED and Treasury are left to pick up the sales. Government debt and deficits are ballooning.
- Markets – Markets are being pumped by lowering interest rates when they should be increasing. By propaganda as to how well the economy is performing. Many companies are struggling, but the seven top companies and a few others are propping up the system. The prospect of more easy money keeps the stock market high (in both senses).
- Inflation – Rising inflation keeps the market prices rising to compensate for the devaluation of the dollar.
- The knock on effect of more households not having jobs will reverberate through the economy. The effects will impact every aspect of life. Stagflationary results will be felt, impoverishing a large part of the economy.
The results will lead to massive political propaganda, once again telling us how strong the economy is and how well it is doing and that the poor guys without work are exceptions.

The CPI (Consumer Price Index) shows no signs of slowing. The indicators show it is massively overbought. I see no signs of it collapsing at this time. It means when collapse comes, there are very few support levels. If we have a collapse, it will be massive and scary. Also, almost vertically down.
Is it going to happen? Absolutely. When? I have no clue.
PLATINUM
SELL: (14 October 2025). The run up in the Platinum price has been spectacular; a correction was to be expected, our system got us out with profit. The spike low may portend an early recovery. No buy signal yet.

GOLD AND SILVER STOCKS
From Rafi Faber. (His work is worth a look).

We established a resistance downtrend line in July 2016, hit in 2020 and 2022. We broke through it just a few months ago, and now we are approaching the trend line from the top. If we bounce off this and keep going higher, that would be a positive sign that gold stocks are looking to be revalued higher in real terms. The break through of the trend line was the first signal, and bouncing off it as support would be an important second signal. Let’s see if that’s what happens.
What should happen, if gold stocks are in a sustainable bull market (which I think they are) then the miners and streamers should drift higher even as gold consolidates, and then take off strongly again once the consolidation is over.
26 September 2025 Gold outperforms gold stocks.

Silver outperforms silver stocks (18 September 2025). Looking overbought but no change indicated yet.

GOLD AND SILVER
Silver to Gold Ratio
Gold outperforming Silver. Almost about to change.Signal given (15 October 2025). When we think that silver is coming out of the ground at about 8:1 and the Gold: Silver ratio is 80.00, something is way out of kilter. Silver is an astounding buy at this time, or gold is in for an extremely heavy correction. Love seeing the ratio move in the right direction.

GOLD TO USD
USD outperforms Gold, (22 October 2025).

- Gold Monthly: is a HOLD. We bought in at $1,800.00 in October 2023. Looking overbought, but it can hold that situation for a while. No sell signal yet. A spike high has formed (a sell signal), and we have to wait for the end of the month for confirmation. No sell yet.
