A look at the Gold and Silver Charts (02.10.2025)

I was really excited at President Trump being elected for both his first and second terms. I felt that real positive change would happen, in addition it would happen fast. In my opinion, the process has been hijacked or for one reason or another President Trump has been waylaid. This is most disappointing.

Having seen his bold actions in his first term, I thought that by now we would not only have seen the back of the UN, we would also have seen the back of the WHO, the  WEF and a number of other three letter organizations within the US and without. In my opinion these organizations are a threat to humanity, not a help.

His executive order banning CBDC’s created excitement, removing the spectre of total control of the spending of humanity only to be replaced by the more draconian:

  1. World Liberty Financial / USD1 stablecoin
    • A private/decentralized finance venture backed by Trump and his family, called World Liberty Financial (WLFI), has launched a stablecoin named USD1. CNBC+2KSAT+2
    • It’s pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar, and backed by short-term U.S. government treasuries, dollar deposits, and other cash equivalents. CNBC+2PYMNTS.com+2
    • USD1 will be launched on blockchains like Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain initially. PYMNTS.com+2CNBC+2
    • The target market includes sovereign investors and major institutions, especially for cross-border transactions. CNBC+2PYMNTS.com+2
  2. GENIUS Act
    • Trump signed into law the GENIUS Act (Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins Act) on July 18, 2025. Wikipedia+1
    • This establishes a regulatory framework for stablecoins in the U.S., including oversight, consumer protections, etc. Wikipedia+1
  3. Strategic Crypto Reserve
    • Trump also announced a “Strategic Crypto Reserve” that is intended to include several major cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP, Solana (SOL), and Cardano (ADA). CNBC+1
    • This reserve is meant to elevate the U.S.’s role in the digital asset space. CNBC

⚠️ What isn’t clear / open questions

  • Whether USD1 or WLFI is considered a government-issued stablecoin or fully private. So far it’s a private project. KSAT+1
  • Whether large traditional financial institutions (banks, payment processors) will directly issue stablecoins under this system, or instead interact with ones like USD1.
  • How regulation will ensure transparency, reserve audits, risk of de-pegging, etc. (though the GENIUS Act is a move toward that).
  • Conflict of interest concerns, given that Trump and his family are directly involved with WLFI. PYMNTS.com+3Wikipedia+3CNBC+3

🔍 Implications

  • If successful, initiatives like USD1 plus the GENIUS Act could shift how stablecoins operate in the U.S., possibly giving more legitimacy and regulatory clarity.
  • Cross-border payments and financial transactions might be streamlined using such stablecoins.
  • It could enhance the U.S. dollar’s reach in global finance via blockchain/digital channels. Forbes+1
  • However, there’s risk of political backlash, regulatory or legal challenges (e.g. over conflicts of interest, etc.).

Expert commentary & interpretation (what analysts and lawyers are saying)

  • Legitimization + demand shock for regulated stablecoins. Legal and payments analysts argue the GENIUS Act reduces regulatory uncertainty for payment stablecoins — likely increasing institutional demand for compliant U.S.-regulated stablecoins (including USD1 if WLFI meets requirements). This could shift liquidity from offshore/opaque stablecoins to registered issuers. Sidley Austin+1
  • Conflict-of-interest and governance risk. Ethics experts and some legislators warn that a sitting President (and family business ties) being directly involved in crypto issuance while signing enabling legislation creates appearance and potential reality of unfair advantage and regulatory capture — increasing legal and reputational risk for WLFI and for policy stability. Expect hearings, disclosure demands, and possible litigation. Senate Banking Committee+1
  • Systemic and financial-stability issues — but muted short term. Requiring high-quality reserves (e.g., short-term Treasuries, 100% backing, monthly disclosures) reduces run risk versus algorithmic or poorly backed stablecoins. However, large-scale adoption of a few dominant stablecoins could create concentration risk, operational risk (custody, smart-contract bugs), and new channels for cross-border capital flows that complicate monetary policy. The White House+1
  • Banks & payment networks: partners not casualties (initially). Many analysts expect major banks and card networks to integrate or act as on-/off-ramp partners rather than be fully disintermediated at first — issuers will likely rely on banks for custody, compliance, fiat-rails, and commercial relationships. But over time CBDC-like roles or direct access to central-bank money could alter banks’ deposit franchise if customers shift large balances into CBDC/stablecoins. Morgan Lewis+1
  • Geopolitical/dollar effects. Pro-dollar, well-regulated stablecoins could extend dollar reach in cross-border payments; conversely, politicized issuance (perceived favoritism or sanctions circumvention risk) could push some foreign actors to alternative rails. Financial Times+1

The worry is that although it appears to be better than CBDC’s which at least gives the people a way of reacting to unfair application of the system. By making it so diverse, yet still governing its application makes it extremely difficult to control from a user point of view.

Having spoken to some non-American industry leaders, I get the impression that whilst paying lip service to President Trump, they are looking for other markets where they are not being placed under such price pressure. They understand that the US consumer picks up the tab, but US corporate buyers try to minimize the effect on their profit margins and consumer pockets by pushing for lower prices in order to mitigate the tariffs.

BUY: (21 September 2025). The spike in the Platinum price has been spectacular. We caught it at $1400.00 last week, it was trading at $1578.00 last night and touched $1613,0. We don’t have a sell yet, but it is looking overbought and is losing momentum.

BUY: (22 August 2025) URA.  Some indicators are pointing up. It looks overbought on the stochastic.   OBV is holding up, delaying an imminent sell signal. I would watch carefully, it looks due for a correction.

Silver outperforming Gold. Signal given (18 September)  When we think that silver is coming out of the ground at about 8:1 and the Gold: Silver ratio is 81.70 something is way out of kilter. Silver is an astounding buy at this time or gold is in for an extremely heavy correction.
